The dew shield is the basic component of telescope dew fighting. Astrozap dew shields are proudly made in the USA of the highest quality materials and workmanship. Astrozap Aluminum dew shields are the flagship products of Astrozap. Lightweight Astrozap aluminum dew shields have a special interior coating process that yields a flat black, non-reflective surface inside the tube to reduce or eliminate stray, off-axis light. The felt liner where the dew shield mounts to the telescope protects the finish of your telescope and also helps to absorb moisture. Heavy duty, threaded grommets and nylon thumb screws provide secure connection.
Astrozap Flexi-Shield™ dew shields are made from high quality ABS-grade polymers, with VELCRO® Brand fasteners to provide a snug fit, and padded so as not to mar or scratch the telescope's finish. They roll up easily into a convenient size for easy transportation to star parties and dark sky sites, near and far.
Astrozap Flexi-Heat™ dew shields are also made from high quality ABS-grade polymers, with VELCRO® Brand fasteners to provide a snug fit, and padded so as not to mar or scratch the telescope's finish. Flexi-Heat™ dew shields uniquely combine both active and passive methods of dew fighting. Each Flexi-Heat™ dew shield has a built-in Astrozap Dew Heater Strap. When used with the Astrozap Dual Channel Dew Controller or the D/C Adapter, the Flexi-Heat™ dew shield performs both active and passive dew fighting methods to keep the telescope objective dew-free, thereby lengthening precious telescope time.
